Mirage Bookmark Website

There’s a wonderful website named Mirage Bookmark that I’ve been enjoying and want to pass along. In addition to a large number of web-links, it has articles on a variety of bookmark topics including history, types, and collecting.

They also have a gift shop where you can buy their gorgeous bookmarks. They have etched and engraved stainless steel bookmarks, magnetic bookmarks with beautiful images, die-cut bookmarks with metallic embossing, and much more. It’s definitely worth browsing.

There’s also a “Bookmark Exhibition”, which is a set of pages with images of bookmarks that are part of an impressive collection. New images are added fairly regularly and cover both antique and contemporary bookmarks. Right now my favorite entry in the exhibition is the latest one: The Art of Bookmark - Bookmark Exhibition. It’s a set of bookmarks advertising their own Bookmark Exhibition. Images of bookmarks in the exhibition are used on the bookmarks advertising the exhibition. I think this is some sort of meta bookmark category. The quote on the page is expressing, I think, a very appropriate pride:

These are the very first bookmarks advertising a bookmark exhibition. They show individual bookmarks from the exhibition, and at the same time, they are being exhibited themselves on the exhibition they are advertising.

I’ve added this site to my list of links because it’s worth checking in on them from time to time.

    Thanks Lauren,
I was just so darned tickled by their bookmarks advertising their bookmarks that I jumped them ahead of some other sites I want to review.
    More to come!
    Alan
