Continuing my collection of links focused on Bookmarks for Sale, here are the items I’ve come across this week.
Handmade Bookmarks: KathyysKrafts
KathyysKrafts has three different handmade bookmarks which came up for sale this week. The first is the Guinness bookmark which she made from a recycled Guinness carton.
The second is the Blue Moon bookmark. There appear to be two different bookmarks for sale, both of which are made from recycled Blue Moon cartons.
And finally, there’s a set made up of a note card, gift card, and bookmark, each with a scenic image that came from recycled materials.
Mark My Time
These bookmarks have a little timer built into them. My initial reaction was “that’s silly”, but then I read a quote from a teacher who pointed out that many children are assigned timed reading sessions. These are fun little tools for kids to keep track of how long they are sitting with a book (and hopefully reading).
I suppose it could also be useful for keeping track of reading rates. I could track my reading rates on different genres, or times of the day. I can keep track of reading rate improvements and download the data into spreadsheets for reading efficiency analysis. Then I could look for localized patterns of …. oh, sorry. My inner engineer burbled out. Let’s just say that I’ve changed my mind about the potential applications of this bookmark.
