As a woodworker myself, this article caught my eye. Alan Bradstreet makes bookmarks from wood in impressive numbers: 45 000 every year. And he down this by himself and by hand! I’m lucky to get one or two out a month just to keep up with my bookmark swaps.
The article describes how he came to producing these bookmarks and also a bit about how he does it. This kind of hand-crafted production is somewhat rare in the US and I love finding examples where I can.
He makes a silhouette style of bookmark cutout from cherry wood. I’ve found an online distributer of his work and a picture of some samples.
