Contests :
The Destin Library (Florida) has teamed with Taco Bell to make bookmark coupons available for the Summer Reading Program. Kids can pick up the coupons at the library, and after reading 10 of the books listed on the bookmark, and getting a signature from a library staff member, the coupons can be redeemed at Taco Bell - Link
The Koffler Gallery (Toronto) is putting together The Bookmark Project. Referred to as an intervention, bookmarks made by fine art student and practicing artists are inserted into the 8000 books displayed during the Koffler 32nd Annual Jewish Book Fair. The submission deadline is October 1, 2008 - Link

Just a wee note .. you have linked me in here saying a paper bookmark.. I just wanted to point out to any one interested.. its done on card overlayerd with texture paste and embossing powders and then laminated to keep it from getting too damaged too quickly.. just in case any one was wanting to make one similar
