This week there was was an interesting news item about a 9th century bookmark (or close to one, anyway) along with all the other bookmark related links that I’ve found from September 12 through September 19.

CHECK THIS OUT! A 9th century artifact is coming up for auction which is believed to be used by monks to serve as a manuscript pointer. Although the original article I found (Link) refers to the relic (called an aestrel) as a bookmark, another article describes it as a device to assist reading illuminated manuscripts without smudging the pages – Link
