I’m skipping the Bookmark Bookmarks posting for May 8, 2009 due to a major fire in my home town. I live in Santa Barbara, California USA, and we’ve been dealing with a major fire that started last Tuesday. Between severe winds and exceedingly hot, dry weather, the fire was out of control for several days, and as much as 1/3 of the city was evacuated.

I am safe, as is my home and family. The weather changed significantly for the better over the weekend, and thanks to amazing work by the fire response teams the fire is currently 70% contained, most evacuees are back in their homes, and the air quality has dramatically improved.

So, I’ve gotten a bit behind in mainting the bookmark links. I should be caught up by this Friday, so look for the catch up entry on Saturday.
